The Structural Spine
Give any talk, segment, or ministry part a spine the audience can feel without seeing your notes.
Every clear speaker is running a structure the audience can sense but not see.
The most durable spine is four beats: Hook, Frame, Proof, Turn.
Hook earns attention. Frame tells them what question we are answering. Proof gives the evidence or scripture or story. Turn hands them something to do.
On radio you run this in ninety seconds. In a discourse you run it in ten minutes. The spine does not change; the ribs do.
Example
Hook: 'I lost an audience once in eleven seconds.' Frame: 'The question is why openings fail.' Proof: three failures and their common cause. Turn: 'Rewrite your first sentence tonight.'
- Hook, Frame, Proof, Turn.
- Signal transitions out loud: 'Here is why that matters.'
- Never begin proof before the frame is set.
Deliver a 90-second segment using Hook, Frame, Proof, Turn on any topic you choose.
Focus: Audible structure and clean transitions ยท 90s
